Land Seismic Services

Land Seismic Services

The Land Seismic Department, possessing equipment and capacity for six teams, is currently operating with five teams in five different locations across Turkey. The sixth team is expected to start operations in the first quarter of 2025. Seismic surveys are a geophysical method used in oil and natural gas exploration to reveal the structural features of the subsurface, assisting in determining the locations where drilling will later be conducted. By sending sound (seismic) waves into the ground at specific frequencies, and recording the reflections coming from underground with receivers on the surface, the process is carried out. The sent sound waves are transmitted using two different methods. The first of these is controlled sources generated by vibroseis machinery. The second source is seismic dynamite specially produced for seismic purposes. These seismic explosives, used in drill holes typically ranging between 12–21 meters in depth and in specific quantities, generate uncontrolled sound waves.
